The Point of It All

The Point of It All

What is the point of being a Christian influencer? I have been navigating this space for 11 years now and have seen the evolution from blogger to influencer to content creator. At every stage the question is always, “What’s the point?”

In all my research on how to be successful at literally anything, the first piece advice is to find your “why”. Some want to inspire, some want to teach, some want to show off, and some just need a space to find likeminded friends, but all have a why. When I was trying to be a fashion blogger, 11 years ago, my why was because I want to wear cute clothes, get free cute clothes, and maybe show others they can be as cute as me. Clearly, that did not work.

Life happens and I’ve had to reevaluate several times to rediscover the purpose of anything I do. I keep coming to one conclusion and that is to love people the way God loves me. Unconditionally and completely. That is why my motto is Love God. Love People. Love Yourself.

When I found the scripture John 17:26 I knew this was the verse that summed up any and every reason for sharing my life on this corner of the internet. For God to be revealed through the work He does in my life and to show His love so much so that anyone who finds me will fall madly in love with Jesus.

It is difficult when so much of social media is people showing off to say, Not I, but Christ who lives in me. And not everyone will understand unless the Holy Spirit reveals it to them, but as auntie Tabitha Brown says, that’s not my business. I am and will continue to be about my Father’s business of loving people and praying that they feel the love of God through every blog, Instagram, TikTok, or YouTube post I publish.

If you are following along as I document all the ways God loves me, thank you. Pray for me that I will keep my eyes on God and off myself. If you see me getting off track, pull me back and I’ll do the same for you.

 I love you. Unconditionally. Completely.
