Best Foot Forward

Happy August Loves! I’ll probably say this every month, but I can’t believe we are already here. Last thing I remember, we were starting to work from home and just knew we would be back within a month. Well, here we are 6 months later, with no end in sight. There is talk of school starting and I know for a fact that I am not comfortable with sending my girls back physically. Long sigh…. virtual school it is. How many of you were looking forward to those quiet 6 hours? I know I was. Oh well, I’d rather be safe than sorry.

To be honest, it is looking more and more like Revelation out there and I truly want to crawl into the fetal position and wait for Jesus to come. My enneagram 9, non-confrontational self, is perfectly fine letting everyone hash out their differences. Just don’t involve me. My only problem is that Jesus isn’t that cute little girl telling us to “worry about yourself.” He told us to “go unto all the world… love our neighbors… and act justly.”

With all that is going on, it is easy to believe that there is nothing we can do significant enough to bring change. I know I think it is all too much on a daily basis, but we must remember that we were not asked to do it all. Only what we’ve been equipped to do. Add that we have been asked to do our best with what we have been given. Whether one talent or ten, multiply it for the Kingdom of God.

So this month, put your best foot forward at whatever it is God has called to you do. Put on the “peace that comes from the Good News so you can be fully prepared” for whatever is put in front of you each day (Ephesians 5:15). It’s crazy out there so be take Paul’s advice and,

Be careful how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, making the best use of the time, because the days are evil.
— Ephesians 5:15-16

When you put your best foot forward with Jesus at your side, the results will be nothing like you expected and so much more than you could have imagined. As we go into this month, I am asking the Holy Spirit to walk with me in every situation, especially getting the girls on the right track with virtual school. Did somebody say routine? Is there a specific situation in your life that I can pray for today? Let me know in the comments below and don’t forget to tread lightly, but confidently!

I love you!
