Coronavirus is creating fear and sickness and uncertainty. As a believer in Jesus Christ, I know that in the greatest scheme of things, this is yet another result of the death and sin that entered the work when Adam and Eve separated themselves and the rest of the world from God. I also know, and praise God daily for, the remedy God put in place before Adam and Eve were created. Jesus Christ.

1 Peter 1:18-20 says, “For you know that God paid a ransom to save you from the empty life you inherited from your ancestors. And it was not paid with mere gold and silver, which loses their value. It was the precious blood of Christ, the sinless, spotless Lamb of God. God chose Him as your ransom long before the world began, but now in these last days He has been revealed for your sake.”

As Jackie Hill Perry says, we are all image bearers of God, and as such, when we go about our daily life it is the goal for others to get a glimpse of Jesus in us.

During this COVID-19 crisis, there are groups of people putting their lives on the line for those infected with this deadly disease. Nurses, doctors, scientist, grocery clerks, postal workers are regularly sacrificing their comfort and safety to ensure we are able to live as comfortably as possible during this time and even working to find a cure and eradicate this disease. As I say my prayers for their safety and the safety of their families and wonder when or if I am going to be able to see the rest of the world again, I am so thankful for the promise of Psalm 91, “For He will rescue you from every trap and protect you from deadly disease.”

I pray that over every person working through this horror and all those doing their part by social distancing to keep themselves and everyone they might come in contact with healthy.

We will get through this. I love you.
